ABOUT
For more than 15 years, the Coalition for Financial Security has been educating policymakers, financial providers, and the public about the lack of financial security among millions of hard-working Americans and ways to help address the problem.
The Coalition’s primary focus is on two areas of policy:
- Promoting public and private-sector policies that will help put more financial professionals in contact with hard-working Americans
- Exploring effective public policy solutions to increase financial literacy
CFS is proud to have supported action in states across the country in pursuit of these goals. Examples of legislation and regulatory action we have supported include New Jersey’s S-2211, which created a financial literacy pilot project in the state, California’s AB 150, which established a financial literacy initiative, and Hawaii’s Administrative Rule Change 16-171-311, which removed arbitrary and unnecessary obstacles standing in the way of financial professionals seeking licenses in the state.
